The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Upcoming Unit Meetings
Each monthly meetings includes a time for sharing joys/concerns, a spiritual vitamin (Bible quote), devotion or program, and reports from the officers and committee leaders regarding the status, events, and projects of the UMW. A time of fellowship concludes each meeting. Meetings are held at Gretna UMC unless otherwise noted.
January 11th at 1 p.m. – Pledge Service/GRETNA PROJECT MISSION
February 8th at 9 a.m. – Call to Prayer & Self-Denial
March 8th at 9:00 a.m. – Field Trip to the Gretna Mission Project (meet at GUMC at 8:30 am & car pool)
April 12th at 9 a.m. – YOUTH Mission Project Speaker
May 10th at 9 a.m. YOUTH PROJECT mission trip
June 14th at 9 a.m. – Garage Sale Prep
July 12th at 9 a.m. — Breakfast Out (meet at GUMC at 8:30 am)
August — no meeting
September 13th at 7 p.m. — Intro UMM Project
October 11th at 9 a.m. — World Thank Offering
November 8th at 9 a.m. — Recognition of Officers
December 6th at tba — Christmas Brunch

UMCOR Kits: our group frequently supports the efforts of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) by providing supplies and/or packing supplies into kits that are then sent to those in need.
